Tourism Harrison River Valley extended their thanks to long-time, now-retired executive director Robert Reyerse.

Reyerse announced his retirement in April, after 13 years at the head of the organization. He plans to focus his efforts on his current role as chair of the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society.

“It is with heartfelt appreciation that we bid happy retirement to our executive director, Robert Reyerse,” Tourism Harrison stated. “His legacy will continue to inspire us as we strive for excellence in the tourism industry.”

Reyerse was one of the founding members of the Sasquatch Museum, which was established in 2017. He spearheaded coordinating the museum’s collection of artifacts and integrating the museum into the Visitor Information Centre. The museum dramatically increased the number of visitors to the centre and promoted the community to a larger audience.

“The Sasquatch Museum, a brainchild of Robert’s passion and dedication, will forever stand as a symbol of his innovative spirit and tireless efforts to enrich our community,” Tourism Harrison stated. “Tourism Harrison, alongside the entire community of Harrison Hot Springs, extends profound gratitude to Robert for his years of exemplary service and the invaluable contributions he has made.”

Reyerse is also the mind behind several staple local events, including Lights by the Lake, Bands on the Beach, Beerfest and the Wine Festival.

The new Visitor Information Centre and Sasquatch Museum is complete and is set for a grand opening later this summer.
