An inmate at Mountain Institution near Agassiz has died.
Kelly Michael Richet died in custody on Tuesday, Oct. 23, according to a release on Thursday (Oct. 26) afternoon from Correctional Service Canada (CSC).
Richet had been serving a sentence of five years, one month and 21 days for manslaughter since March 23.
As is the case with any inmate death, the RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service have been notified. CSC will review the circumstances of the death.
